This site is the premier Bowes site on the net!
Why?
The Bowes Village On-Line Community Portal exists for the community of Bowes through
interactive community involvement. Bowes Internet Services believes that this site
is one way in which to help the community, and to contribute to the local
life of the village. Please get involved, everyone can help.
Who?
This site was designed as a one-man part-time effort, and input is required.
Updates to the site are on-going, and we are actively seeking out links to
related sites and to sites relating to local businesses and non-profit
organisations. We'd welcome input from neighbours!
When?
The Bowes.Co.Uk site was registered with Nominet via Netnames UK on the 3rd
February 1998, by R.J.Turner of Bowes Internet Services. Bowes Internet Services
Design has been designing and running a number of significant and popular
sites, non-commercially, since December 1996. Bowes.Org.Uk and Bowes.Me.Uk

Where?
Where is not significant on the internet, but Virtual Bowes On-Line is currently
hosted on a server provided by OneandOne Internet, having moved from the previous
hosting company www.MaxImpact.net, (a north-east England run company with servers
in California, USA) after a number of major outages. The pages originally were hosted
by NDirect.Co.Uk, in 1998 an excellent UK service provider, but soon after moved to
their own server to support more facilities. The pages are designed in Bowes, County
Durham, UK, and also near Frankfurt, Germany, and previously Garching-Bei-Muenchen,
Bavaria, Germany.
