Annual Parish Meeting
Meet the Laird
"Hospitality Week" at Bowes Post Office
This will take place from 10th to 15th May. These events are held annually in Post Offices countrywide, to raise money for local good causes. This is the first time that Bowes has taken part.
Try your luck for a prize on the Treasure Map - all week during shop
hours.
Come and meet the Laird of Cock-a-Leekie Castle on Tuesday 11th May - from
11am to 4pm. For a donation of 50p or more, the Laird will invite you into
his Baronial Hall for coffee or a free 'dram'.
All proceeds will go to the Stoneleigh Mini-Bus Fund.
Bowes Village Shop
The shop will shortly be stocking plants for baskets and bedding, also onion
sets and some seed potatoes. Support your local shop!!!
Bowes Skip Facility
Residents are reminded that this facility is for domestic and household waste only. It is illegal to use this skip for disposal of commercial and farm rubbish. The number of complaints has risen dramatically about the skip being filled with farm plastic waste immediately it arrives on site. This prevents householders from using the skip.
Disposal of commercial and farm waste is subject to different arrangements. Phone Teesdale District Council on 690000 and ask for Environmental Services Department.
The skip is now being kept under observation and its continued misuse may lead to prosecutions - you have been warned!
